We are spoiled for choice in North Canterbury Canterbury with so many beef, lamb, pork and venison farms. Many of them producing premium meat organically, free range, or with regenerative agriculture principles. In short, ethically. Here’s a list of our favourite local meat producers who sell direct and/or in local retail stores. We hope you consider buying from them!
Middlehurst Station
Middlehurst Station’s merino lambs see the best of both worlds. While they may be born in the high-country ranges of the Upper Awatere Valley, Marlborough, they spend most of their lives on the lush, green fields in Cheviot, North Canterbury. We adore the Macdonald’s focus on animal welfare and commitment to utilizing all parts of the animal – wool and every cut of meat.
