North Canterbury Seafood Market has been the region’s go-to for the freshest seafood, sourced straight from North Canterbury waters. Christine and Craig, the proud owners since June 2022, have continued to build on the strong foundation laid by the previous owners, maintaining a loyal local following.

Christine, with a background in hospitality and experience running a food truck, and Craig, a licensed builder, embraced the flexibility of running their own seafood market. The couple’s passion for seafood and the community shines through in everything they do. From their store on High Street in Rangiora to the markets they attend each week, they’re committed to bringing the highest quality seafood to their customers.

Q&A with Craig & Christine from North Canterbury Seafood Market

Why North Canterbury?  Having lived locally for over 25 years, it’s the perfect fit for us. We purchased the business with a fantastic reputation and a strong, loyal customer base. It’s great that we can provide fish that’s been caught right here in North Canterbury waters.

What’s your favourite thing to do in North Canterbury? We love to explore the region, from four-wheel driving in Lees Valley to taking our dogs to Ashworths Beach.

Name your top three North Canterbury brands (other than your own!): We love to support other North Canterbury businesses and too many to name. Some of our favourites include Rangiora Bakery, The Herbalist, Waipara Valley Honey, Mt Grey Olives, and Pagies Pantry.
