Heartland Brew roasted by Coffee Worx

To many North Cantabrians, Coffee Worx is known as a top notch café near the centre of Rangiora. But to owners Deb and Ian Riach, Coffee Worx is a coffee roasting and supply business.

Although they turn out a huge selection of delicious food each day at their busy café, behind the scenes the Coffee Worx team is roasting over 1.2 tonnes of coffee per week for distribution to cafes, eateries and supermarkets throughout the South Island. They sell another 80kgs a week through their Rangiora café – via the espresso machine and in retail bags to their loyal local customers.

Coffee Worx sources quality coffee beans from around the world through a reputable green bean broker. It is then blended and roasted in Rangiora and distributed under both the Coffee Worx brand and the Heartland Brew label.

Heartland Brew is Coffee Worx’s food service and supermarket brand. It’s strong retail following comes from the many customers who recognise the quality and superior taste of the coffee and love the competitive price. Heartland Brew aims to reflect the uniqueness of the local landscape and people and is roasted with the Kiwi palate in mind. It’s fresh, locally roasted and represents the heartland of New Zealand.Heartland Brew’s six varieties are stocked in over 50 supermarkets, cafes and specialty suppliers throughout the South Island and can be purchased online through their website.

As if they weren’t busy enough, the Coffee Worx team have also chosen to partner with the Bright Hope Charity as the New Zealand roaster for La Mai coffee which is a non-profit brand supporting coffee growers in Thailand and working to reduce exploitation of the people of Thailand.

The raft of awards that Coffee Worx has received says a lot about their commitment to quality and their skill which Deb and Ian have crafted over 20+ years in the industry.
