Greenz Artisan

Butterscotch white chocolate peanut butter..We’ll let you read that again: butterscotch white chocolate peanut butter; that’s one product, packed into a single jar of incredible, indulgent deliciousness. Yum. It’s no wonder it’s one of the biggest sellers in the Greenz Artisan product range.

But it’s not the only unexpected combination of flavours made by Greenz Artisan owner Tina Dudley. Her other peanut butter flavours include smoked chilli; turmeric, black pepper and ginger; honey cinnamon; and chilli chocolate. And then there are her homemade artisan jams: fig and pear; raspberry rhubarb; blackcurrant gooseberry; strawberry balsamic and a whole host of other in-season varieties. All handmade right here in North Canterbury.

Tina – originally from the USA – bought Greenz from a friend, rescuing the original Greenz line and adding her own touch and American flavours like American Style Grape Jelly and Southern American Apple Butter (or as Kiwis like to call it ‘Apple Pie Conserve’). Over the years she has added to her product line and now has over 20 boutique offerings including her classic and exotic peanut butters, her jams and her newer nut and seed-based items: plain or spicy dukkah and the popular Keto Max Snax range.

With an ethos of using natural, spray-free, local ingredients wherever possible, Greenz Artisan products are a mark of quality, freshness and flavour. Purchase the full range online, or take your pick from the selections available at the Riverside Collective in Christchurch’s Riverside Market and selected famers markets around Canterbury.

Q&A with Tina Dudley of Greenz Artisan

Why North Canterbury? I love the wide-open green space. Before moving to North Canterbury, we lived in Tokyo Japan. There was very limited green space. Every where I looked there were buildings and concrete. So when it was time to move back to New Zealand and get back to reality we chose North Canterbury. This was the life I have always longed for. I just love it here.

What’s your favourite thing to do in North Canterbury?  I love just hanging out in North Canterbury. I perform stand-up comedy at Five Stags Rangiora. I have met some very lovely people there, and the food is outstanding. I am known to give away jars of peanut butter at most of my shows!

Name your top three North Canterbury brands: The Sausage Shed has the most delicious sausage. I take Brent my Muscovy duck meat and he turns it into the most amazing duck sausage. Five Stags Rangiora – the pork belly bites are to die for.  I just love the dehydrated fruit form Loburn Grove
