Saffrondaze is a small, artisanal saffron farm run by Lilian & Steven Loh just 10 minutes from Oxford. Established five years ago, the farm is spray-free and small-scale with Lilian and Steven personally handling everything from harvesting and processing to packaging and selling at farmers’ markets.
A true paddock-to-plate approach.
Lilian and Steven moved to North Canterbury over 13 years ago trading office jobs for farm life – heels for gumboots. Their saffron journey began while helping a friend on a saffron farm, discovering a love for the high-value, low-volume crop.
The name ‘Saffrondaze’ reflects the relaxing feeling of harvesting and processing the flowers. Daze rhymes with days and captures the calm fragrant experience.
The couple now live on a 10-acre block, having moved from Singapore apartments and enjoy gardening, building vegetable plots, tinkering in their workshop, and establishing the farm boundaries.
They are passionate about learning, meeting new people, and collaborating with local producers, including the Amberley Farmers Market
